Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls NP is among the most spectacular and varied parks in Africa. The thundering falls are its centre piece and a boat trip to the turbulant crocodile filled waters at their base is not to be missed. As the waters of the mighty River Nile meander their way through the park it’s wooded banks come alive with the animals of the savannah seeking the refreshing waters. Hippo, elephant, buffalo, hartebeest collect here along with an abundance of birdlife, including the bizarre and elusive shoebill stork.

On it’s palm dotted rolling savannah are giraffe, lion, leopard, and Uganda kob. In the southern section of the park sits the ancient Budongo rainforest, home to a host of rare forest creatures including many primates and the once in a lifetime chance to visit our closest cousins, chimpanzees.

There are a great many accommodation options at Murchison and Buffalo Safari Camps have selected the best for any budget in our lodge and bush camping, budget and mid-range safari options.
